1. I have noticed a pattern over the last week or so: only minutes after tucking all four children in, either Madison or Logan is up to go to the bathroom. After about 10 minutes we are calling upstairs, "Put the book down! It's almost 9:00! Go to bed!" Tonight this memory resurfaced: 10 year old me (12? 15?) passing through the living room to get to our only bathroom with a book hidden in the elastic of my pajama bottoms, stomach sucked in to hide the blocky bulge. They get it from their mother.
2. It is an eerie feeling to look into the mirror and see my father's chin, my dead brother's smile, another brother's eyes, my mother and sister's crooked mouth smirk. With age comes the wonderful realization that I am connected to each of them.
we were laughing so hard!
